Expanding Access to Hepatitis C Diagnostics and Treatment in Ukraine
Project duration: December 2014–December 2015.
Overall project goal: to conduct a large-scale advocacy campaign at international, national and regional levels to scale up access to HCV diagnostics and treatment in Ukraine, through ensuring support of governmental and non-governmental organizations and financing interventions to fight HCV.
Key project objectives:

Including PWID and people with HIV/HCV co-infection into national and regional/local hepatitis programs.

Reducing prices for HCV treatment to scale up coverage by hepatitis programs.

Advocating for allocation of funds stipulated for HCV treatment from state, regional/local budgets and international donor funds.

HCV testing among Ukrainian soldiers who have returned from the war zone in East Ukraine or were conscripted into military forces.

Developing and launching mechanisms of interaction between NGOs and governmental organizations.

Advocating for updating HCV treatment guidelines and simplifying the procedure of registration of HCV medications.
