Poliomyelitis

The Alliance for Public Health made an important contribution to implementing the HIV/AIDS monitoring and evaluation system in Ukraine. It remains the leading non-governmental organization implementing and strengthening monitoring and evaluation principles within prevention programs and epidemiological surveillance of the epidemics of HIV/AIDS and other socially dangerous diseases in Ukraine.

Currently, the Alliance for Public Health also provides technical support in monitoring projects for other agencies and organizations. In October 2015 within the first round of the National Polio Vaccination Campaign, at the request of the Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Ukraine, supported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Alliance ensured monitoring of campaign implementation in 15 regions of Ukraine. The monitoring results made an important contribution to preparation for further rounds of vaccination, building technical capacity of healthcare institutions implementing the campaign, and improving quality of services.
